Perovskite-silicon tandem solar cells provide extra protection against reverse-bias degradation

Recently, scientists have made a major breakthrough in the field of solar technology. They have developed a new type of perovskite-silicon tandem solar cell that can provide additional protection against reverse bias degradation.

 

Perovskite solar cells are hailed as the ideal choice for the next generation of solar cells due to their high efficiency and low cost. However, a major problem with this type of cell is its performance degradation under reverse bias conditions. Reverse bias refers to the situation where the voltage direction is opposite to the normal operating direction when the battery is running.
